Victor Stanley, the 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stanley, drowned about 8 o’clock tonight in a little stream near his parents’ home. The Stanleys live on the old Gillette place on Little Goose Creek about five miles from Sheridan.

Despite a gathering storm, the first glimpse of the solar eclipse was discernible a little after 5 o’clock this afternoon. Such an event occurs three times only in a thousand years.

Dave Hurst was instantly killed about 1 o’clock this morning when either rolling cars or a switch engine struck him while he was sleeping on the rails in front of the freight house platform about a block north of Fifth street.
