A representative of the Warren Construction Co. of Portland, which has the contract for the paving on Residence Hill, is in Sheridan to start the work as soon as possible. He declared today his expectation of getting a gang of men to start tomorrow on preliminary work.

Sugar and flour substitutes were demonstrated at a meeting yesterday of the Ladies’ Home Circle of the Presbyterian Church. The demonstration was at the home of Mrs. D.E. Gwinn on Arlington boulevard.

Three men, all of Carneyville, were arrested there last night on a charge of larceny of copper cable from the Monarch, New Acme and one or more of the other mining companies in the Carneyville region.
