Forty fatherless children in France must be adopted by Sheridan county residents, according to a quota assigned to this locality. Several families have agreed to contribute the required amount to adopt a French child for a year.

Subscriptions for the annual charity fund of the Salvation Army are to be circulated within the next few days with the view of raising $1,000 for charity work in Sheridan for the coming year.

Roy Minty, Dean West and A.F. Hufford have been named as a committee to cooperate with the Sheridan Red Cross in preparing and conducting a suitable welcome home for the boys returning from army service.

C.P. Hill and C.E. Sonnamaker of Ulm are in Sheridan today.
