A number of Sheridan and Johnson county people have been mentioned for possible appointment to state positions. Among them are S.H. Hardin of Ranchester for commissioner of taxation and C.M. June of Buffalo for state examiner.
Sheridan county has gone on record as favoring a per pound tax on all motor vehicles for revenue purposes, to raise funds for good roads.
Nearly 1,300 soldiers passing through Sheridan during the month of December were entertained at the canteen.
Bacon butts are 38 cents a pound and picnic hams 30 cents a pound at Swan Grocery and Market. Fresh spinach is 25 cents a pound.
