Undersheriff Kirby returned to Sheridan last night from Lewiston, Mont., bringing with him a prisoner wanted here on a charge of horse theft. The prisoner originally consented to return to Sheridan, then changed his mind and fought extradition. Finally he changed his mind again after seeing a telegram stating that requisition papers were on their way.

Some 120 of the high school boys in the boys’ working reserve force have been promoted by the government to relieve the labor shortage of the harvest season.

Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Ward of Clearmont were in Sheridan overnight.

Sheridan people have joined the ranks of whale meat consumers. One local market has a big hunk of it on display in its window.
