Spanish Influenza, Oct. 25, 1918

May 11, 2020

Despite the opinion of physicians that the Spanish influenza is abating, five deaths from the illness have occurred in Sheridan within the 24 hours ending at noon today, Oct. 25. Dr. Hurd, county health officer, says 32 cases were reported in the county yesterday, half as many as the previous day.

An urgent appeal is made by the Red Cross for women to go out to work by the day in the homes of the sick. All women who feel disposed to yield to this plea are asked to report to the Red Cross headquarters in the federal building.

Arthur M. Johnston, Burlington machinist, is improving from the influenza.
