A Look Back in Time: Oct. 14, 1920

A broken main rod strap on the engine of eastbound freight train No. 4102 caused a wreck at Wakely, near Sheridan, at 4:25 o’clock this morning. Ulm is preparing for one of the most notable “farm” days in its history when the Burlington railroad’s “better farm” train stops there Friday. The train will remain at Ulm from 2 o’clock to 10:30 p.m. Story Democrats have announced plans for a rally in the pavilion of that town on Saturday night. A program of speeches by prominent men in the Democratic circles of the community has been arranged. A dance will be an added attraction of the meeting. H. H. Holmes of Buffalo is in Sheridan today.
