“Bachelor,” a bull terrier who’s had a job since puppyhood of being dog at the Bachelors’ Club, has enlisted in Sheridan’s National Guard Company D and is off to join the company with the next batch of recruits.

George Nottingham, clerk of district court, has announced himself a candidate for re-election to the office.

A permanent marker was installed today at the site of the Wagonbox fight on Little Piney east of Story. The marker consists of a 4-inch iron pipe topped by a bronze cap bearing the points of the compass and the inscription, “Site of Wagonbox Fight, August 2, 1867.”
