Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on July 22, 1915.
Warrants will be issued Saturday for the arrest of all persons owning property on which the weeds have not been cut. Warning was given to property owners several weeks ago, and most have complied. An officer has been detailed to go about the city, to locate the lots on which weeds are still standing, and secure the names of the lot owners.
Today’s July clearance sale bargains at the Golden Rule store include bleached sheets, 72 by 90, for 29 cents, linen towels for 19 cents, and good gingham petticoats just 39 cents.
Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Clark of Buffalo, New York, were in Sheridan yesterday. The couple are on their way to Miles City, Montana, where they expect to locate on a homestead. They are making the overland trip in a Hudson “20”. They said they have made the trip without one breakdown and with only one punctured tire and one blowout.
