A Look Back in Time: Oct. 5, 1915

25-year-old Herman Hollis of Sheridan was shot and fatally wounded in the gambling room of the Kentucky Saloon in Sheridan about 8:30 last night. After committing the deed, the murderer, who kept the room’s other occupant at gunpoint, seized $120 that was on the table and escaped. Mr. Hollis died at the state hospital here this afternoon.

Charles Hinkle has rented the Carl Sackett ranch at Big Horn and is preparing to put up more than 100 acres of fall wheat.
