Dave Kahn of Sheridan set a new price record for purchase of state land today, with a bid of $56 an acre for a quarter of a section of land on Cat creek in Sheridan County. About 25,000 acres of state land were disposed of during the sale here today. The Commercial club of Sheridan paid $51 an acre for a quarter of a section on Dutch creek seven and a half miles east of Sheridan. That land is to be used as a state dry farm experiment station.
H.A. Newcomer of Banner, who has been in Sheridan several days for treatment, is considered well enough to return home today.
Tonight is free poultry night at the Orpheum theater in Sheridan.
