After having been frozen for more than three months, a water main on Beckton avenue in Sheridan thawed out yesterday, and service was resumed without a leak developing either in the main or in any of the services connected with it.
Saturday specials at Sheridan’s Central Market include pork steak for 16 cents a pound, shoulder steak 17 cents a pound and a three-pound pail of pure fresh kettle-rendered lard for 45 cents.
