Anna McFarland, a 24-year-old widow in Chicago, has written M. Steele, secretary of the Sheridan Commercial club, asking his aid in securing her a position on a ranch in the Sheridan country. She has had experience in western ranch life, and writes that she is a good worker and can give excellent references.

A convict gang comprising 10 road laborers and a cook arrived last night from Rawlins. The men were met at Ranchester by County Commissioner S.B. Gwinn, and road foreman J.D. Hatfield, and went up on the mountains today.

Miss Alma Yonkee left today for a trip through Yellowstone park.
