Shorty McDonald has returned from Miles City, Mont., where he was attending a horse sale. He bought 15 head of horses at prices ranging from about $50 upward to $125.

J.C. McLaren, fire expert from the district forester’s office in Denver, left today after spending 10 days here on the Black Mountain fire. A patrol of 25 men is still maintained on the blaze.
