A Look Back in Time: March 5, 1917

Ote Merrill, a rancher living on Dutch creek, was shot and killed instantly while seated in an automobile on Main street at 1:30 this afternoon. The shooter, William Rinner, a homesteader on Beatty Gulch, claimed that Merrill had broken up his home. Mrs. Rinner was in the car with Merrill at the time of the shooting.

The school board is asking for bids for seats for the auditorium at the Linden school. The auditorium will seat about 50 people.
