William Brandt, aged 22, was instantly killed at the Model mine at 10 o’clock last night when he fell on a rotary coal cutting saw.

Sheridan Elks last night, at a meeting in which an intense spirit of patriotism prevailed, adopted a war resolution reciting the indignities to which this nation has been subjected by Germany and urging full military and naval preparedness to meet the crisis. A copy of the resolution was wired to President Wilson.

Sheridan people will have a chance to attest their loyalty to their flag and country by attending the monster patriotic mass meeting at the Orpheum theater tonight. The meeting will start at 8 p.m., following a patriotic street concert by the Sheridan band.
