Mrs. O.L. Wertman in Sheridan has received a letter from Cheyenne announcing that Wyoming has won first place in sales per capita of Red Cross stamps at Christmas time. Sheridan was third in sales behind Cheyenne and Casper.

The street department has started flushing the sidewalks on Main street every morning in order to save the merchants the necessity of washing the walks with the hose. Commissioner Birkhaeuser had a crew dragging the streets yesterday.

E.W. Barney, A.D. Reed and C.L. Tidd, all of Sheridan, and A.G. Armstrong enlisted in the army at the recruiting headquarters here. They left today for Denver.
