Mayor Church has called upon the people of Sheridan to observe the rest of this week until Monday as an annual clean-up period in the city. On Monday, teams will haul away the accumulations of rubbish that are placed in the alleys or sidestreets.

A local committee representing the Sheridan Commercial club and the other business interests of the city are making an urgent appeal to the farmers of Sheridan County to aid the nation in meeting the food crisis which confronts it.

Less than 350 people had voted in the special election at one o’clock this afternoon. The polls had been open for four hours at that time. The vote of the laboring people during the noon hour was very light, and as the polls will close at 5 o’clock, indications are that only a few will vote.
