No intimation has as yet been received that Sheridan County will be allowed credit for recent recruits in the National Guard. If no credit is allowed, the county will have to supply 43 men on the first draft.
A peculiarly brazen hold-up was pulled off Saturday night at the Boston Cafe in Sheridan. A local teamster was beaten into unconsciousness and robbed by two strangers. The police have been working on the case but so far have been unable to affect an arrest.
If the soldiers leave tomorrow, Sheridan’s Basket Grocery will close for an hour or so to allow employees to take part in the farewell demonstration.
