Buffalo’s new police chief, Sean Bissett, is settling into the position, and getting to know his officers, dispatchers, and the community over the last couple of weeks since his hiring.
In his first report to the Buffalo City Council he discussed a recent incident and touched on upcoming plans within the community with other agencies.
Bissett also said he will be adjusting the schedule of those in dispatch to give them more steady time off.
He has been meeting with community members and said that has been going well and he has been hearing a lot of positive feedback from them.
Two officers have begun attending the police academy in Douglas, and another will be going in May, and one dispatcher will be going to get certified in March.
Bissett himself will be attending the academy in March as well.
