Val Vista Rezone and Cost Increase for Ecosystem Restoration Project on Council’s Agenda

Due to the Presidents Day holiday Monday, the Sheridan City Council will meet for their next regularly scheduled business meeting the following day, Tuesday, February 22. The Council will be considering a cost increase for the Army Corp of Engineers 1135 ecosystem restoration project. Based on the contract bids, the entire project is now estimated to cost $10.6 million an increase of $2.86 million. Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger explained what’s behind the increase.

An ordinance will be considered by the council on first reading to rezone 35,000 square feet of property on Val Vista Street from an R-3 residence district to an B-2 business district.

The council will also be considering a resolution requesting to increase the loan amount for the Landfill T6, T7 and T8 final closure project. The meeting will take place Tuesday night at 7 in council chambers on the third floor of Sheridan City Hall.
