Johnson County Library Seeking Volunteers

March 7, 2022

The Johnson County Library in Buffalo will be looking to volunteers to help it reopen on Saturdays.

Director Steve Rzasa will hold an information session at 10 a.m. On Saturday, March 19 in the Twing Meeting Room at the library.

According to a release from the library, they eliminated Saturday hours in September of 2020 due to decreased finances and staffing challenges.

The goal is to reopen from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays using a mix of library staff and volunteers beginning in June of 2022.

They are searching for people who can comfortably interact with the public, who can also shelve returning materials and assist library users with technology such as their WiFi printer and public computers.

A roster of volunteers will be compiled who will commit three to nine hours a month or more if possible.

Training will be provided for tasks with which staff need the most assistance.

Those interested or with questions can contact Rzasa at srzasa@johnsoncountylibraries.org or call (307) 684-5546.
