Gatchell Museum to Offer Musical History Conference

The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo will be offering their Music Speaks History Conference next monthat the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

The conference will feature a moderated Q&A presentation on how music has influenced cultures in the area, with live music from three musicians will make presentations on different styles of music.

Willie LeClair will focus on Eastern Shoshone music; David Romtvedt will present Basque music; and Lynn Young will concentrate on Americana music.

The evening will have the musical presentations, dinner and refreshments provided by Mickory’s Catering. A vegetarian option will be available upon request.

The cost of the event is $35 per person and proceeds will go to support the Jim Gatchell Museum.

The Music Speaks event will be Saturday, April 30 at the fairgrounds from 5 to 8 p.m.
