The Downtown Sheridan Association is inviting the public to take part in America’s Great Race.
The DSA will be hosting the Downtown Kentucky Derby Party beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in the Grinnell Plaza. Tickets to the 21 and older only event include hors d’oeuvres from Verdello and Chef Don King, two drink tickets, and live music.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, DSA Marketing and Events Director Nikki Ulug told listeners the party will feature the derby itself and a musical performance.

The event will also feature a contest to determine the most stylish of large Kentucky Derby hats, a time honored tradition at the Churchill Downs.
According to Ulug, those who purchase a ticket will help the DSA continue to provide incentives for property improvements, enhance local festivals, create and maintain public spaces, encourage new business development, and provide overall economic stimulus to the Sheridan community.
