Jo Co Rural Health Discusses Medical Director Agreements

Medical director agreements were discussed by the Johnson County Rural Health Care District board during their meeting this week, with one ready to sign and questions concerning the other.

Dr. Mark Schueler will continue as the medical director for Buffalo EMS and Dr. Luke Goddard will take over the duties for Kaycee Ambulance.

Board chairman Marilyn Connolly explained to the board what was happening with both agreements.

One concern discussed by the board was medical malpractice insurance with the agreement with Dr. Goddard and who would be responsible for obtaining it and then covering the cost.

Board attorney Barry Crago will review the changes in Dr. Goddard’s agreement as well as the insurance question and bring a recommendation back to the board at their next meeting.

Once the agreements are signed, they will take effect as of July 1.
