The Buffalo City Council voted to pass Ordinance No. 1410, their annual appropriations bill, or budget, on its first reading during their meeting Tuesday evening.
The annual appropriations bill was set at just over $12.5 million for fiscal year 2022-23, ending June 30, 2023.
The council will need to pass the appropriations bill on a second and third reading before it is official.
This year’s budget is down slightly from the 2021-22 fiscal year, where the council approved a $13.1 million appropriations bill.
By comparison, the city’s budget in 2020-21 was set at just under $13 million.
