The Sheridan County Commission has approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Sheridan concerning the subdivision of lands within one-mile of the contiguous corporate limits of the city.
According to County Planner Mark Reid, the Wyoming Legislature recently made changes to statutes concerning the process of subdivision approval within the one-mile limit.
He explained that the MOU, which contains the changes made by the legislature along with other changes in provision agreed upon by the city and county, has been approved by the Sheridan City Council.
Commissioner Nick Siddle spoke in favor of the MOU, saying it is important for both local governments to cooperate with each other regarding lands where the two entities meet.
The commission voted in favor of the MOU.
