A trial in federal court in Wyoming was recently held for two men from California who were accused of trafficking firearms. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details
Gun Trafficking
According to the Department of Justice, 34-year-old Darwin Thomas and 37-year-old Phillip Flores, both of Los Angeles, California, were found guilty by a Wyoming federal jury of conspiracy to transfer firearms to an out-of-state resident and providing false statements during the purchase of firearms. In addition, Thomas was convicted of six counts of aiding and abetting making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. Flores was convicted of one count on the same charge. The weeklong trial was held before Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson in Cheyenne. Both Thomas and Flores are scheduled to be sentenced for the crimes on August 4.
The case was investigated by the ATF, FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Laramie PD, the Los Angeles PD, and the Inglewood PD.
