LOCAL TRACK AND FIELD – Tomorrow Sheridan high school will be hosting an all-comers track meet, Sheridan high school Head track coach Taylor Kelting says it’s a fund raiser for two year old Caysn Cates from Buffalo who is battling leukemia.
Kelting says this is the second year for the event.
And Taylor says it’s a fun track meet for all age divisions.
The cost to enter is 5 dollars per event and events are unlimited so you can do as many events as you want, they will also take walk up donations at the meet as well.
Registration is from 5:30 to 6:00, field events start at 6:00 running events start at 7:00.
JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks are gearing for another season, the team will host their fundraising golf tournament on August 12th at the Powder horn, they have registration for teams set up on their website at sheridanhawks.com.
Players start arriving in three weeks with the season opening in early September right now the organization is looking for billet or host families for players this season.
Carla Dunham is the Hawks billet coordinator and says it’s a great program for local families to get involved in.
Dr. Brent Milner is president of the Hawks and say billet families are what makes the program successful.
FALL SPORTS – The fall sports season is set to begin Monday August 8th when the Sheridan Bronc football team opens fall camp, the rest of our fall sports begin a week later.
The Broncs open the football season August 26th at home against Cheyenne Central.
