YMCA will close for maintenance

August 5, 2022

The Sheridan County YMCA will shut its doors for one week to perform maintenance and cleaning of areas that require a little extra attention.

A regular practice, the Y uses the week closure to perform maintenance touch-ups and deep cleaning processes to ensure the environment is as safe as possible for users.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday told listeners this is a busy week for the Y’s maintenance crew.

Some of those projects done ahead of time include the shampooing of carpets in the offices and other carpeted areas and preparation for the maintenance week ahead.

According to Cassiday, the 103,000 square-foot building has a lot of nooks and crannies that her team has identified to clean and repair.

The closure will begin on Aug. 13, and remain closed to the public through the 21.

Cassiday recommends that members with long term lockers remove any items they may need in that time before Aug. 13.
