Buffalo residents reminded to secure property and lock up cars and homes

September 21, 2022

Buffalo Police Department Chief Sean Bissett is reminding residents to lock their homes and vehicles to protect their belongings.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Chief Bissett told listeners about an incident that had taken place last month when two vehicles were broken into and credit cards were taken.

The recent theft comes on the heels of a series of thefts similar in nature that occurred earlier this summer in Buffalo. In the case of the earlier thefts, suspects have been arrested and property has been returned.

This new theft appears to be unrelated, but is very similar to a theft that has been reported in Gillette. Bissett said the investigation is still ongoing.

Bissett is reminding residents to secure their property and remember to lock both homes and vehicles.
