An ordinance detailing open space requirements for developers in the City of Sheridan was an item of consideration at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council meeting. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Ordinance 2255 was approved by the City Council on second reading. No change was made to the ordinance from first reading as the open space requirements remain 8 percent for R-1, 10 percent for R-2, 17 percent for R-3, and 10 percent for R-4. Councilman Aaron Linden said he intends to offer an amendment to the ordinance on third reading.

A failed amendment proposed by Councilman Clint Beaver would have repealed any open space requirements for developers in the City. The Council also voted to table an emergency powers and response ordinance until the Sheridan County Emergency Operation Plan is completed and can be presented to the City Council.
