The Johnson County School Board discussed and approved board member Lynette Fox to vote on various resolutions that the Wyoming School Board Association (WSBA) was to discuss and possibly adopt at their Annual Conference November 16-18.

Superintendent Charles Auzqui explained why the board should affirm the policies.

The board voted to support and affirm Policy 2024.1 BOCES as LEAs to Receive Funding; Policy 2024.2 Compulsory Attendance and Early Intervention – First Grade Students; Policy 2024.3 Special Education Graduation Counts; and Policy 2024.4 Elimination of Corporal Punishment in Wyoming Public Schools

According to the WSBA website, Resolutions that pass the Delegate Assembly will become the WSBA Advocacy Agenda.

The Advocacy Agenda will guide WSBA in seeking the best remedy for the issue presented.

The Advocacy Agenda will represent the official WSBA position on the issue.
