Sheridan Commission Approves MOU For Emergency Situations

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Sheridan County Emergency Management Agency (SCEMA) and Sheridan County School District #3 (SCSD3) for a working mutual-aid relationship.

Commission Chair Christi Haswell explained the agreement in more detail.

According to the agreement provided by the commission, in the event of an emergency situation, SCSD3 will allow SCEMA the use of district buildings and properties, and both parties will establish a formal working mutual-aid relationship in support of Emergency Management planning, response, and recovery programs.

SDSC3 will allow the use of facilities to coordinate sheltering operations for citizens displaced by emergency and/or disaster; perform shelter reviews to plan for and update the Sheridan County Sheltering Plan; and provide busing, staff, and vehicles if available to coordinate evacuation operations for citizens displaced by emergency and/or disaster.
