Johnson County Lifts Hiring Freeze for Road & Bridge

Johnson County’s Commissioners voted to lift the ongoing hiring freeze for the county road & bridge department to hire a replacement for an outgoing employee.

Road & Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer spoke with the commission to explain further why he needed the freeze lifted.

Pehringer said he will be losing a blade operator that is nearing retirement age and decided to move back to where they grew up.

The commission voted to allow Pehringer to look for and hire a replacement for the departing employee.
