A report of an active shooter inside Buffalo High School Monday morning, along with similar calls made to schools throughout the state, turned out to be a hoax.
Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett, in his report to the city council at their meeting this week, discussed the call and the response from local law enforcement agencies.
Bissett said the Buffalo Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Wyoming Highway Patrol, and Fish & Game Officers all responded to the call.
Local law enforcement is working with the FBI and DCI on the investigation, according to Bissett.
He said there is no better training for law enforcement than something like this, and everyone involved responded the way they were trained to do.
Bissett said you can never say you are 100% ready for something like this, but they are ready and their training has paid off, adding that the community should be aware that they are ready to go should the time come, but hopefully it will never happen.
