News – Sheridan Media
A popular food gathering event that normally takes place each summer in Sheridan will not take place this year.
The downtown Sheridan Association has announced that due to the ongoing construction work on Main Street, and the resulting traffic and parking issues, the Sheridan Farmers Market is on pause for 2023.
The market started back in 2001 and was named best market in the state in 2014, by America’s Farmland Trust.
With the passing of Wyoming’s landmark Food Freedom Act, the Farmers Market has been able to increase the variety of goods available from local producers while reaching an ever-increasing customer base.
Despite the struggles posed by a worldwide pandemic, as well as increasing fuel and labor costs, the Market has persevered in providing local producers a venue, and consumers a focal point in their quest for high quality, fresh and healthy foods and lovingly produced hand-crafted items.
Consumers will still be able to source local meats, produce, baked goods and more from the Saturday Farmers Market at Landon’s Greenhouse Nursery and Landscaping, Sackett’s Market, Cross E Dairy and Freedom Foods as well as the Ranchester Farmers Market.
Many of the vendors can also be reached through social media.
