The Buffalo City Council has passed Ordinance No. 1415, their 2023-24 preliminary budget on its first reading.
During their regular meeting Tuesday, Mayor Shane Schrader announced that the budget is nearly $18.5 million.
Broken down, the preliminary budget shows General City expense of about $729,000; Protective Services at $2.1 million; Streets at $1.3 million; Recreation at just under $300,000; Water at roughly $1.6 million; Wastewater at $765,000;
Sanitation at $600,000; Miscellaneous Equipment at $821,000; Capital Improvements at $9.8 million; and Outside Agencies and City Affiliates at about $353,000.
The budget numbers may change during the next two readings before it is officially adopted in June.
