JCHC Board OK’s Rate Increase for AHCC

As part of their preliminary budget discussion at their regular meeting Wednesday night, the Hospital Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center discussed and then approved the mill levy request and a rate increase for the Amie Holt Care Center.

The rate increase approved will jump the cost for care in the nursing home from $312 to $375 per day.

Hospital CEO Luke Senden discussed the issue with the board, saying he didn’t like the rate increase but it is necessary to at least partially keep up with costs and the going rates for other facilities in the region.

Also approved by the board was the request to the county to collect the full 3 tax mills allowed to the JCHC.
