Edison Elder, representing the Buffalo Community Rink, spoke to the city council during their last meeting to update them on what has been happening, report on some new equipment, and to ask for some help from the city for a cover for the ice rink.
Elder said the rink has been utilized by many different user groups, and his organization has hosted many Thursday night ball hockey games during the spring and summer.
They have hosted a number of other events.
The weather has led to the request to the city by the organization for a cover for the rink, so events aren’t canceled due to weather.
Elder also reported that they have received a donation from the Sublette County Ice Arena of Zamboni Ice resurfacing machine, and they are hoping the city will look into installing a shed for the storage of the Zamboni.
He also presented the council with a Memorandum of Understanding between the organization and the city for the council to review.
