The Kaycee-Buffalo-Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board (KBJ-JPB), during their regular meeting Wednesday, discussed their financial situation, which is not good, according to Board Treasurer Rick Myers.
Myers said the KBJ-JPB had requested $140,000 in funding for their budget, half from the county and half from the city, but were given $50,000 from the county and $20,000 from the city, or exactly half of their requested amount.
Myers said he didn’t understand why the governments chose to cut funding as deeply as they did, considering that KBJ-JPB is using the money to keep the doors open on their facilities, not paying for unneeded projects.
Myers said it is frustrating to him and the cuts are enough that they will impact
the facilities significantly at some point.
