Johnson County’s Commissioners, at their regular meeting held Tuesday afternoon, adopted Resolution No. 710, which authorizes the County Fire Warden to make decisions concerning the implementation and lifting of fire restrictions.
The resolution was discussed further by Chairman Bill Novotny and Deputy Fire Warden Scott Duncan.
The resolution approves the fire warden to make the decisions on lands under 7,000 feet in elevation to avoid overlapping the jurisdictions of the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
Civil County Deputy County Attorney Barry Crago has reviewed the resolution and had no reservations with it.
