Volunteers of America Northern Rockies will be hosting an event this week featuring “Hope Always” Author Dr. Matthew Sleeth, who is the founder and executive director of Blessed Earth, an educational nonprofit that inspires and equips people to become better stewards of all creation. The in-person training event will take place Wednesday, August 16 from 8:30 am to noon at the Ramada Plaza in Sheridan. focus on mental health and suicide and how community citizens can offer help to those in need. The event is free, but because space is limited the VOA is requesting that those interested in attending register in advance online. You can register for the event here.
According to VOA, Dr. Sleeth is a former emergency room physician and chief of the hospital medical staff, who in 2002 resigned from his position to teach, preach, and write about faith and health. Dr. Sleeth has spoken at more than one thousand churches, campuses, and events, including serving as a monthly guest preacher at the Washington National Cathedral. Recognized by Newsweek as one of the nation’s most influential Christian leaders.
