Johnson County’s Commissioners voted to approve a Request For Proposal (RFP) to provide additional accounting services to the county.
Commission Chairman Bill Novotny explained more about the RFP during their recent meeting.
Novotny said there was one change made to this year’s RFP which is to award the contract on a two-year basis with an option for a third year, as opposed to just a one-year contract, to hopefully entice a firm to enter into a contract with the county.
The accounting firm will help the County Clerk and Treasurer with posting to the journal, preparation of the abstract, and any other accounting services needed to get documents in order for the annual audit.
Novotny said funds have been set aside for the contract in this year’s budget.
