Buffalo Proclaims September 10-16 Suicide Prevention Week

Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader has proclaimed this week, September 10-16 as “Suicide Prevention Week.”

After the proclamation, Community Prevention Manager/Suicide Prevention Specialist Bill Hawley gave a presentation on the Suicide Prevention Coalition’s work in the community, and asked for community members to become a “Beacon of Light” by getting involved in prevention of suicide and/or joining a support group for those left behind.

Hawley also announced that there are two local suicide prevention call centers in Wyoming, which seem to have made a difference in the state’s suicide rate.

Hawley wrapped by asking those interested to come to a training, learn more, and make a difference to maybe save someone’s life.
