Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon (R) made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse in part, to discuss property taxes and the upcoming 2024 Budget Session.
Gordon calls property taxes in Wyoming, “the most important issue that we have before us.” In his budget proposal, the Governor proposed expanding the property tax relief program by $20 million over the next two years to help families struggling to remain in their homes.

As Wyoming lawmakers prepare to meet for the 2024 Budget Session beginning Feb. 12, many bills address property tax issues faced by Wyoming’s citizens. These bills will be debated and arguments heard, but many lawmakers agree, something needs to be done sooner rather than later.
Gordon said alongside ensuring residents receive the relief they direly need, there are two points he would like to see taken into consideration by legislators during the session.
