Jo Co Commission OK’s DeSmet North Access Purchase Agreement

Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved an agreement to purchase prop erty on the north end of Lake DeSmet for a future boat ramp/access point that will be built there.

At the commission’s meeting this week, County Attorney Tucker Ruby, who has been working on the agreement with Wyoming Game & Fish, gave a rundown on what has happened over the last year with the acquisition of the property.

Commission Chairman Bill Novotny added that the Sheridan Game & Fish Office has requested $500,000 in their budget request to the director of the Game & Fish to pay for the boat ramp and comfort stations.

The hope is that there could be usable facilities at that north end access within the year.
