Sheridan Commission Approves Flight Plan for Mosquito Management

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have sent a Letter of Support for Bighorn Flying Company, LLC in association with Sheridan County Weed & Pest District, for the County Mosquito Management Program.

Bighorn Flying Company will perform aerial application operations over Sheridan County during the months of May through September of 2024.

Specific dates will be determined by mosquito populations and weather conditions.

In the Letter of Support, the commission said the program helps ensure the county has the fewest West Nile virus cases possible.

The aerial larvicidal treatment program has reduced mosquito annoyance and risk of West Nile virus for approximately 30,000 county residents and is widely supported by the community.

The county commission supports Bighorn Flying Company’s Congested Area Flight Plan for the program.
