Unemployment percentages in all 23 counties in Wyoming decreased from August to September, and analysts say that’s normal for this time of year.
The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says although rates dropped in every county, the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased slightly from 3.0% in August to 3.1% in September.
An explanation for the increase was not provided.
The rate was at 2.9% in September of 2023.
Sheridan County’s unemployment rate dropped from 2.8% in August to 2.4% in September.
Johnson County had the 3rd biggest drop in the state.
The county’s rate was at 3.1% in August and September’s rate was at 2.4%.
Both Sheridan and Johnson County had an unemployment rate of 2.0% in September of 2023.
Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate in September at 1.6%, while Uinta County had the highest rate at 3.1%.
Non-farm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 1,800 jobs from September of last year to September of this year.
