The Wyoming Energy Authority (WEA) will hold a public input session on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, to gather community feedback on the proposed Home Energy Savings Program. The Home Energy Savings Program aims to help eligible Wyoming residents save money on their utility bills by funding home energy efficiency improvements. WEA will also accept written public comments until December 13, 2024.
The Home Energy Savings Program will allocate over $69 million in federally funded rebates for low- and middle-income families to make energy efficiency improvements to their homes. Examples of improvements may include upgrading the home’s insulation or buying and installing more efficient electric appliances.
The state is seeking feedback from the community on the following questions:
- What would encourage you to participate in this program?
- What barriers might prevent you or members of your community from applying to the Home Energy Savings Program to fund energy efficiency upgrades in your homes?
- What are the best ways for you or members of your community to receive more information about the Home Energy Savings Program (for example, website, mailings, television ads, in person meetings, etc.)?
- How might WEA encourage participation from residential energy contractors (e.g., HVAC contractors, electricians, plumbers, weatherization contractors, energy auditors) to conduct projects funded through the program?
- What concerns do you have about the Home Energy Savings Program?
Public feedback will help WEA design the statewide program and identify opportunities for continued collaboration with the community.
